Frontlot Square is the place where the guests get their very first
impressions of the Walt Disney Studios after they entered the theme
park through the beautiful iron gates. The heart of the square is an
extraordinary fountain with sorcerer Mickey on the top and some of
the enchanted brooms around him.
On both sides of the Frontlot Square shops are located with a large
variety of Souvenirs, Walt Disney Studios Store on the left hand and
Studio Photo on the right hand. Many of the Studios Services, such
as the First Aid Centre and Lost and Found can also be found around
the Frontlot Square.
Just behind the Walt Disney Studios Store the landmark of the theme
park, the 33 metre tall Earful Tower raises its legs into the sky.
The Earful Tower is inspired by the water towers, that traditionally
marked the entrance of Hollywood cinema studios during the 1930´s
and 1940´s. At the Disney Studios at Burbank, California, a water
tower has been the landmark since 1939, too. Another Earful Tower
can be found at the MGM Studios in Walt Disney World. This tower has
already seen different decorations in the past for some special
events like Christmas, so let´s see if the european Earful Tower
will also get costumed!
Der Frontlot Square vermittelt dem Besucher die ersten Eindrücke der
Walt Disney Studios, nachdem sie den Themenpark durch die wunderschönen
schmiedeeisernen Tore betreten haben. Das Herz der Plaza ist ein
außergewöhnlicher Brunnen mit Mickey als Zauberlehrling auf der Spitze
und mehreren verzauberten Besen um ihn herum.
Zu beiden Seiten der Plaza befinden sich Boutiquen mit einer großen
Auswahl an Souvenirs, Walt Disney Studios Store auf der linken Seite und
Studio Photo auf der rechten Seite. Außerdem finden sich die meisten der
funktionellen Einrichtungen auf dem Frontlot Square, wie z.B.
Geldwechsel, Babyeinrichtungen, Fundbüro, Erste Hilfe, Kinderwagen- und
Rollstuhlvermietung.
Direkt hinter dem Walt Disney Studios Store streckt das Wahrzeichen der
Walt Disney Studios, der 33 Meter hohe Earful Tower, seine Beine in den
Himmel. Der Earful Tower ist inspiriert von den Wassertürmen, die
während der 30er und 40er Jahre den Eingang zu vielen Filmstudios in
Hollywood bildeten. Auch in den Disney Studios in Burbank, Kalifornien,
ist ein solcher Turm seit 1939 das Wahrzeichen. Ein weiterer Earful
Tower steht in den MGM Studios in Walt Disney World. Dieser Turm wurde
in der Vergangenheit schon zu verschiedenen Anlässen besonders
dekoriert, z.B. zu Weihnachten. Warten wir ab, ob der europäische Earful
Tower auch mal eine Verkleidung bekommt!
