In the heart of the Walt Disney Studios, across the exit of Studio 1, you can find the station of the Studio Tram Tours. Depending on the languages you choose you can start to queue in one of the lines. The waiting times for the different queues can vary a lot.The tram itself has been made up by several wagons. Each able to take up to 25 people, of which 4 to 5 people can take place in one row, on the tram tour. After taking place the tour is ready to begin, starting with the actors appearing on the screen. They will accompany you on the tour. The actors will take the tour with you and will tell about it in one of the six languages. For example Nastassja Kinski will great you in German, Jeremy Irons in English, Famke Jansen in Dutch, Isabella Rosselini in Italian, etc.
To start the tour itself you pass some props lying around before you will be able to see a big décor of the new American Miniseries; Dinotopia. A big Temple with on each site a massive Dinosaur statue. After a short stop the tram starts making his way to Catastrophe Canyon.
From the outside the Catastrophe Canyon is nothing more than a maze of steel. However, once you entered the Canyon, the visitor will enter a new world. Here you will be invited to be part of an earthquake. It starts all with some simple rainfall, but it doesn’t take long before the whole tram starts to shake from one side to the other. On the inside of the canyon, between the red collared rocks, you can see an oilrig and a big lorry from a fiction oil company called; Mojave Oil Company. Before you know it explosions start to happen and not much later pipelines, the oilrig and the tanker are burning. Flames are shouting high up into the sky. The next catastrophe coming towards you is a flood of 265.00 litres of water. The water runs between the rocks making a way to the wagons of the tram tour. But, using the "trick box" of the filmmaker, the worst scenario for you could be a wet
trouser.
After you leave the Canyon, your host will show you on the screen how all the action you’ve witnessed has been done.Back on the tour you pass some of the airplanes used in Pearl Harbour. This before you enter the next part, the costume building. Here you can watch the Cast Members who are making the
costumes.
Before going to the next highlight you pass some cars used in different productions. This highlight is the set from the
movie "Reign of Fire" which opened in the US only in July 2002, so
after the studios and the attraction had opened to the public. You will enter the city of London, completely destroyed. Soon enough you will find out who did this to the inhabitant of London. The sound coming from the pit, followed by a burst of fire tells you there is a dragon waiting to come out.
After the last thrill of this set the tram slowly, but surly, makes his way back to the
station.

Die Station der Studio Tram Tour befindet sich im Herzen der Walt Disney Studios, direkt gegenüber des Ausganges von Studio 1. Je nach gewünschter Sprache kann sich der Gast zwischen verschiedenen Warteschlangen entscheiden, wobei die Länge der jeweiligen Warteschlange doch recht unterschiedlich sein kann.
Die Tram selbst besteht aus mehreren Wagen, in denen jeweils ca. 25 Personen Platz finden, etwa 4 - 5 Personen passen nebeneinander in eine Reihe. Nachdem sich der leuchtend rote Zug in Bewegung gesetzt hat, werden die Besucher von bekannten Stars aus Film und Fernsehen, wie z.B. Jeremy Irons, in der jeweils gewählten Sprache von einem im Wagen integrierten Monitor aus begrüßt und während der Fahrt begleitet.Zunächst führt die Fahrt an unscheinbaren Kulissen vorbei, bis sich linker Hand ein gigantischer Tempel erhebt: eine Kulisse aus der neuen amerikanischen Miniserie Dinotopia, die ab Mai in den USA über die Bildschirme flimmern wird. Majestätisch und im wunderschönen Jugendstil erheben sich rechts und links des Tempeleingangs zwei graziöse Dinosaurierstatuen, und man erwartet jeden Moment das Öffnen der Tempeltore. Bevor dieser gigantische Eindruck überhaupt richtig wahrgenommen wurde, ist die Tram bereits an der Kulisse vorbeigezogen und bewegt sich auf das eigentliche Highlight der Tour zu: den Catastrophe Canyon.
Von außen ist der Canyon nicht mehr als ein Gewirr von Gerüststangen und Leitungsrohren, sobald die Tram jedoch das Tor passiert hat, befindet sich der Besucher in einer anderen Welt, und zwar im Inneren eines engen Canyons aus typischem rotem Gestein, und gleich werden die Besucher die Möglichkeiten der sehr realistischen Darstellung einer Explosion bzw. einer Überschwemmung hautnah erleben ! Es beginnt ganz harmlos mit einem kleinen Regenschauer. Die Besucher fühlen sich noch ganz sicher, außerhalb des eigentlichen Geschehens. Doch schon bald wird auch die Tram von einem heftigen Erdbeben durchgeschüttelt. Im Inneren des Canyons befindet sich auch eine Bohrstation und ein Tanklastzug der fiktiven Mojave Oil Company. Wie könnte es anders sein, kurz nach dem Erdbeben lassen die ersten Explosionen nicht lange auf sich warten und den Gästen der vorderen Wagen wird bei den meterhohen Flammen ganz schön heiß. Ein lautes Rauschen kündigt die nächste Katastrophe an, eine Sturmflut aus 265.000 Litern Wasser stürzt durch den Canyon auf die Besucher nieder, zum Glück entstammt all dies aus der Trickkiste der Filmemacher, so dass man im schlimmsten Fall mit einer nassen Hose rechnen muss.
Nachdem die Tram einige Flugzeuge aus dem Kriegsdrama Pearl Harbour passiert hat, ist die nächste Station der Tour das Kostümgebäude. Hier kann man den Nähern sogar bei der Arbeit über die Schulter schauen.
Ein letztes Highlight erreicht die Tram mit der Einfahrt in eine düstere und zerstörte Kulisse der Stadt London, in deren Ruinen ein schrecklicher Drache zu hausen scheint. Seinen feurigen Atem bekommen die Gäste auch deutlich zu spüren. Dieses Set
stammt aus dem apokalyptischen Actionfilm "Reign of fire", der erst im Juli
2002, also nach der Eröffnung der Studios und der Attraktion, in die amerikanischen Kinos
kam. Nachdem die Gäste nun hautnah Erdbeben und anderen Katastrophen ausgesetzt waren, die die Filmindustrie zu bieten hat, fährt die Tram gemütlich in die Endhaltestelle ein und die Besucher finden sich zurückversetzt in die wirkliche Welt |

Die mächtigen Kulissen aus Dinotopia sind nicht nur Fassade, sondern massiv gebaut, so dass man als Besucher wirklich den Eindruck bekommt, dass im nächsten Moment die Tore des Tempels geöffnet werden und die Dinosaurier heraustreten.
