Along the left side of the main road in Toon Studios guests will
encounter a
desert landscape with an old fashioned gas station -
welcome to Radiator Springs, the picturesque desert town from the
Disney Pixar feature "Cars" that took the audience at full
throttle around the globe in summer 2006.
Desert rocks cover the backside of the
Art of Disney Animation building which sits right behind the family
friendly ride "Cars" and form the backdrop for the car action guests
will be taking part in shortly as well as for the photo opportunity
with Lightning McQueen and Mater, the stars from "Cars".
Once guests have walked into the
desert landscape and arrived at the gas station, they will discover
that the gas station actually functions as the queueing area. But then it is already time to board
one of the brightly colored cars based on the designs of the
animated feature, in which the talking cars are the stars. Today
guests are invited to hop along for an exciting car chase through
the desert - unfortunately things get a little bit out of control...
The cars travel along what (based on
first sketches presented by Walt Disney Imagineering) looks like two
connected figure-8-patterns, formed by four rotating platforms,
crisscrossing each other's path every so often in near colissions. As
if this wouldn't be enough while traveling around these four circles
each car twirls and spins wildely out of control
According to unconfirmed rumors the
action will be commented on by the cars themselves ... but this, as
most details, is not yet confirmed. Keeping in mind the numerous
languages spoken throughout Europe it might actually proof rather
difficult to realize.
But anyway guests can look forward to
a truly spinning car chase that is
fun for all ages, bringing them not only face to face but right into
the action with their preferred stars from the animated feature "Cars". |
Auf der linken Seite des Hauptweges durch die Toon Studios erwartet
die Gäste eine Wüstenlandschaft mit einer alten
Tankstelle - willkommen in Radiator Springs, der pittoresken
Wüstenstadt aus dem Disney Pixar Film "Cars", der im
Sommer 2006 das Publikum weltweit mit Hochgeschwindigkeit eroberte.Felsformationen
verdecken die Rückseite des Art of Disney Animation Gebäudes, das
direkt hinter der Familienattraktion "Cars" steht und stellen die
Kulisse sowohl für die Auto-Action dar, an der die Gäste in kürze
teilnehmen können, als auch die Photomöglichkeit mit Lightning
McQueen und Mater, den Stars aus "Cars".
Nachdem die Gäste die Straße verlassen haben und
zur Tankstelle gelangen, stellt sich heraus, dass diese der
eigentliche Wartebereich ist. Doch schon ist es Zeit, einen der
bunten Wagen zu besteigen, deren Design sich an den sprechenden
Wagen orientiert, die die Stars des gleichnamigen Films sind. Heute
dürfen die Gäste live an Bord dabei sein, wenn es zu einer
aufregenden Verfolgungsjagd durch die Wüste geht - leider gerät das
ganze etwas außer Kontrolle...
Die Wagen bewegen sich (so jedenfalls
zeigen es erste Skizzen von Walt Disney Imagineering) entlang zweier
verbundener 8er-Figuren, gebildet von vier rotierenden Plattformen.
Während der Tour um diese vier Kreise verfehlen sich die Wagen nur knapp, wenn sich ihre Wege kreuzen.
Und als wäre das noch nicht genug
drehen die Wagen sich dabeo noch völlig außer Kontrolle!
Letzte, unbestätigte Gerüchte melden,
dass die Wagen selber die heiße Action kommentieren werden ... wie alle
Details gibt es dafür aber noch keine Bestätigung - besonders unter
Berücksichtigung der Sprachenvielfalt im Park.
Auf jeden Fall aber können sich die
Gäste auf eine wirklich verrückte Autofahrt für jedes Alter freuen, die
sie direkt in die Welt aus dem Film "Cars"
versetzt. |

The
ride uses the same technology as "Francis' Ladybug Boogie" in "A Bug's
Land" at Disney's California Adventure albeit with a different themeing,
since in DCA the vehicles are themed to look like ladybugs (as can be
seen in the photo).
The rides may also differ in the numbers of ride vehicles and "circles" the
vehicles travel around. Also, based on the first sketches, guests may be
seated differently. While the DCA ride has guests seated in a circle
facing inward in each vehicle (as e.g. in
Mad Hatter's Tea Cups), first sketches for the WDS-version imply
guests may be seated next to each other - just as in a car.

Attraktion basiert auf der selben Technologie wie "Francis' Ladybug
Boogie" in "A Bug's Land" in Disney's California Adventure, wenn
auch mit einem neuen Themeing. In DCA sind wie Wagen als Maikäfer
gestaltet (wie im Photo zu erkennen). Daneben könnten die beiden
Versionen sich in der Zahl der Wagen und der Kreise unterscheiden,
entlang derer die Wagen sich bewegen. Zudem deuten die ersten
Skizzen an, dass Gäste nicht wie in DCA zur Mitte des Wagens
schauend in einem Kreis sitzen (vergleichbar
Mad Hatter's Tea Cups), sondern eben wie in einem Wagen
nebeneinander. |
