Come 2007 the gates to a whole new world will open in the Walt Disney Studios - to a whole new Studio world that is: the Toon Studios. The Toon Studios is where the biggest toon stars from Disney and Pixar shoot their movies. But what can guests expect? So far the Imagineers at work have not yet revealed everything but a few first glimpses into the future are already possible - certainly they should be taken with some caution as plans can and most probably will change till spring 2007... The new section of the Walt Disney Studios will begin either right behind the Art of Disney Animation and Animagique or will even incorporate the complete current Animation Courtyard, which anyway will receive a new fancy themeing plussing the area and its buildings with new, magical Disney details. It is already confirmed that the children's favorite the Flying Carpets over Agrabah will be integrated into the Toon Studios with new props and desert gardens adding to its themeing. But the main section of the Toon Studios will be placed on a currently empty piece of land between the Flying Carpets over Agrabah, the Art of Disney Animation and the Costume Building, guests pass by durign the Backlot Tram Tour. Access to this new area will be granted via the location originally ioccupied by the trailer of Mickey and Minnie. Their trailer currently has been relocated to the Production Courtyard and word is not yet out, whether it will remain there or whether it will be placed in the Toon Studios next spring. Concept drawings of the Toon Studios show a trailer in the far distance, but latest rumors indicate that this might be a new catering location... But what most guests will be looking forward to are the two all new attractions that will be at the heart of the Toon Studios: The big draw will be the Turtle Twister located in a new soundstage between the Flying Carpets over Agrabah and the costuming building seen during the Backlot Tram Tour. The elaborate reef gardens and the front of the sound stage which is adorned by a gigantic under water mural transport guests right into the world of Nemo from the Disney Pixar movie "Finding Nemo". On board of giant sea turtles guests will be able to relive the most exiting and most beautiful moments from this modern classic. The attraction, a mixture between a dark ride and a family coaster, will also add cinetics to the Toon Studios, since the turtles at one point actually zip through the reef gardens in front of the sound stage. The second all new attraction is located across the main road of the Toon Studios at the back of the Art of Disney Animation building. Still referred to by its name from the planning phase, Cars, just as the Disney Pixar feature it is based on, the attraction features a desert gas station and picturesque desert rock formations as sets for the shooting of some car action as guests are invited to board some of the famous cars from the movie for a fun spin through the desert. Hier drehen die größten Stars von Disney und Pixar ihre Filme. Aber worauf können sich die Gäste freuen? Die Imagineers halten vieles noch geheim, doch ein erster Blick in die Zukunft ist schon möglich - natürlich mit der gebotenen Vorsicht, denn Pläne können und werden sich bestimmt auch noch bis zum Frühjahr 2007 ändern... Der neue Bereich der Walt Disney Studios wird entweder direkt hinter Art of Disney Animation und Animagique beginnen oder sogar den kompletten Animation Courtyard umfassen, der aber auf jeden Fall mit neuen Dekorationen umgestaltet werden wird in bester magischer Disney-Tradition. Fest steht bereits, dass auf jeden Fall die bei den jüngsten Gäste beliebte Attraktion Flying Carpets over Agrabah in die Toon Studios integriert werden wird - mit neuen Gestaltungselementen und zusätzlichen Wüstengärten. Der Hauptteil der neuen Toon Studios wird aber auf dem momentan noch freien Stück Land zwischen den Flying Carpets over Agrabah, Art of Disney Animation und dem Kostüm-Gebäude errichtet, das die Gäste während der Backlot Tram Tour sehen. Der Zugang in diesen Bereich findet sich am ehemaligen Standplatz des Trailers von Mickey und Minnie, der zur Zeit in den Production Courtyard verschoben wurde. Unklar ist allerdings noch, ob der Trailer dort dauerhaft aufgestellt wurde, oder ob er wieder Bestandteil der Toon Studios werden soll ab nächstem Frühjahr. Auf ersten Konzeptzeichnungen der Toon Studios ist zwar ein Trailer zu erkennen, aber laut neuesten Gerüchten könnte es sich dabei auch um einen Verkaufsstand für Speisen und Getränke handeln... Herzstück der Toon Studios werden aber zwei völlig neue Attraktionen sein: Zum einen wäre da der Turtle Twister, der in einer neuen Studiohalle zwischen den Flying Carpets over Agrabah und dem Kostümgebäude, das auf der Backlot Tramtour zu sehen ist, untergebracht wird. Die aufwendigen Riff-Gärten vor der Halle und das riesige Unterwasser-Gemälde an seiner Fassade versetzen die Gäste schon vor Beginn der Fahrt in die Welt von Nemo aus dem Disney Pixar Film "Findet Nemo". An Bord großer Meeres-Schildkröten werden sie dann die aufregendsten und schönsten Momente des modernen Klassikers noch einmal erleben können. Die Attraktion, eine Mischung aus Dark-Ride und Familien-Coaster, bringt zusätzlich Bewegung in die Toon Studios, da die Schildkröten während der Fahrt auch kurz durch die Riff-Gärten vor der Studiohalle sausen werden. Die zweite völlig neue Attraktion wird sich direkt gegenüber des Turtle Twisters auf der anderen Seite der Hauptstrasse der Toon Studios befinden und trägt zumindestens in der aktuellen Planungsphase den Namen Cars - genau wie der Disney Pixar Film auf dem sie beruht. In der Kulisse einer Tankstelle in der Wüste und vor photogenen Felsformationen wird hier eine heiße Actionszene nachgestellt. Und die Gäste können an Bord der beliebten Wagen aus dem Film eine Runde mitdrehen.
